چکیده
Tryptophan (Trp) is an essential amino acid, commercially available as a feed-grade product, and precursor to serotonin melatonin, which are both important molecules in stress mitigation. Meagre have high potential for marine aquaculture diversification but highly susceptible stressful conditions. This study aimed assess the role of dietary tryptophan supplementation meagre juveniles order minimize deleterious effect For this, growth trial was performed wherein were fed four isoproteic (45%DM) isolipidic (16%DM) diets; namely, control diet, three diets similar diet supplemented with varying levels tryptophan, graded according resulting percentage each diet’s dry matter (Control, 0.25%Trp, 0.5%Trp, 1%Trp), corresponding total 1.06, 1.70, 2.08, 3.24 g 16 g−1 N, respectively. Diets tested triplicate, fish twice day, six days week, eight weeks. Five after end trial, time-course blood sampling at 0 h, 1 3 6 12 h feeding. At point, liver also collected. Overall, our results indicate that 1Trp (total Trp N) may be harmful fish, decreasing performance feed utilization, although doses up 0.5Trp do not influence these parameters. Voluntary intake lineally decreased increase level Trp. Whole-body lipid content highest inclusion, whereas no changes observed protein levels. After from feeding, plasma glucose lower all treatments compared those control. Hepatic enzyme activity catabolism inclusion. suggested while 2.08 N did affect efficiency, parameters severely compromised N.

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to describe the first report of Ichthyobodo spp. infection in meagre (Argyrosomus regius) fry in a marine aquaculture facility in Turkey. METHODS The material of the study was composed of 30 meagre A. regius in 2-3 g weight taken from the fry adaptation unit of a fish farm in the Aegean Sea. In this study, parasitological and pathological examinations were p...

Outbreak of Sciaenacotyle panceri (Monogenea) on cage-reared meagre Argyrosomus regius (Osteichthyes) from the western Mediterranean Sea.
Two different batches of meagre Argyrosomus regius were stocked in the same floating cage located in north-eastern Sardinia (western Mediterranean Sea). After 4 mo, the fish started showing non-specific disease signs, such as lethargy, emaciation, gill anaemia and mortality. In total 65 specimens of meagre of both stocks were sampled for parasitological and microbiological analysis, and only 1 ...

Between September 2006 and April 2007 the authors transported one 0.9 m wingspan Mobula mobular from Olhão (South of Portugal) to Valencia (East of Spain), 12 approximately 1.0 m long Argyrosomus regius to Tarragona (Northeast of Spain) and four approximately 0.4 m long Mola mola to Atlanta (GA, USA). These journeys had a total "water to water" duration of 17, 22 and 33 hr, respectively. The fi...
